Kaser et al. (2006; © American Geophysical Union) provide consensus estimates of global-average small-glacier mass balance for 1961-2004.

Cogley (2004; © American Geophysical Union) describes an error model for temporally and spatially extended quantities such as ice-sheet accumulation.

Hember et al. (2003) describe recent surveys of the lower tongue of White Glacier and compare results with the glacier's 1960 configuration.

Cogley (2003c) explains briefly how to correct geodetic surveys of glacier elevation for their differing position in the seasonal cycle.

Cogley (2003b) provides the text of a poster paper from a workshop on glacier recession held at NSIDC, Boulder, March 2003.

Cogley (2003a) describes the content and format of GGHYDRO, a global hydrographic dataset.

Cogley and Jung-Rothenhäusler (2002) present an analysis of uncertainties in the digital elevation models of White Glacier and of the Thompson Glacier region which are described elsewhere on this site.

Cogley (1999b) is a bibliography of glaciological research on Axel Heiberg Island, intended to update the complete bibliography provided earlier by Ommanney (1987). For an update of the update, click Recent Publications.

Cogley (1999a) presents an algorithm for rectifying (that is, transforming to map coordinates) high-oblique aerial photographs taken with the Trimetrogon cameras which were widely used until the 1950s. Rectification of high obliques (which contain the horizon) appears to have become a lost art since the advent of high-altitude vertical aerial photographs. Being unable to use these Trimetrogon photographs quantitatively is a hindrance to the historical reconstruction of glacier change, which is unfortunate because the photographs, taken in the 1940s and 1950s, represent the dawn of recorded history for nearly all of the glaciers (and indeed, of the terrain) in the Canadian High Arctic.

Adams (1997) provides a bibliography of Trent research on ice and snow.

Cogley (1989) explains the derivation of GGHYDRO fields RNOF, RNER and RICE.
