I became interested in developmental psychology as a graduate student at Shanghai Normal University, China, where I was involved in two cross-cultural longitudinal projects investigating children’s social and academic adjustment in Canada and China. Following the completion of my M.Ed. in Shanghai, I went to the Dept. of Psychology at the University of Western Ontario to pursue my M.A. and Ph.D. After obtaining my Ph.D. in Psychology, I worked as a post-doc research fellow and an instructor at the University of Western Ontario. I joined the Department of Psychology at Trent University in 2004, drawn very much by its reputation for excellence in undergraduate education and research. I enjoy teaching and working with children and their parents. Outside of the University, I like spending time with my family and traveling.
