March 12, 2013 In 2011, a documentary on National Geographic called “Killed by Coyotes?” highlighted a fatal coyote attack on a young woman in eastern Canada. Watch the documentary here.
February 14, 2013 Some of our research on coyotes in Toronto and Eastern wolves in Algonquin Park was featured in the documentary “Meet the Coywolf” on CBC’s The Nature of Things. Although the documentary provides some interesting information to the public on the colonization of eastern North America by coyotes and highlights results from current research regarding behaviour, diet, movement, etc., we do not agree with the use of the term ‘coywolf’. Eastern coyotes, as they should be called, are not a new species and a term like coywolf is misleading and inappropriate. Click here to see the documentary.

September 24-27, 2012 Keith Munro attended the Pathways to Success Conference: Integrating Humans Dimensions into Fisheries and Wildlife Management in Breckenridge, Colorado where he presented his talk ‘Can landowner decisions influence white-tailed deer management? Exploring restricted hunting access to private land’.

June 2012 John Benson attended the American Society of Mammalogists conference in Reno, Nevada where he gave the talk ‘Genotype-specific survival of wolves and coyotes in a 3-species hybrid zone’.
